About NCHC Liberia:

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the National Catholic Health Council (NCHC) is a body established by the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Liberia (CABICOL) mandated to lead, support, and coordinate the work of all three Diocesan Catholic Health Secretariats (DCHSs) in Liberia. The NCHC was legally registered in July 2016. As part of its mandate, NCHC ensures that all Catholic Health Facilities (CHFs) provide quality, customer-centered health care to the people of Liberia.

NCHC and CRS are preparing to implement a HELINA IV with activities that will address the graduation of project participants to a level of self-reliance and sustaining nutrition practices among AGYW. NCHC and MoH will deliver on seed funding activities to increase income for improved and sustained nutrition-sensitive livelihood and increase home visits with modified nutrition counseling and social behavior change activities as identified. CRS will reinforce its monitoring and supervision of business and vocational skill participants and accompany internship programs, on-the-spot coaching, and encouragement to well-performing participants. To promote healthy eating and dietary diversification in households with AGYW, HELINA IV will introduce innovative urban kitchen gardening. CRS will work with the Ministry of Agriculture and local private organizations specialized in urban gardening initiatives to train selected participants in the implementation of urban kitchen gardening where participants can grow, eat, and sell vegetables and other nutritional crops to improve their nutrition outcomes.

Job Summary:

The SILC Field Supervisor will actively be involved with activities of the Saving Internal Lending Community and Gender Transformative Approach (SILC+GTA). The SILC Supervisor will be responsible for supervising SILC Field Agents and ensuring the quality of the SILC groups they form; developing Field Agents skills and certifying them as Private Service Providers (PSPs); overseeing their work as PSPs and organizing them into networks.

Reports to: NCHC Program Manager

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Train field agents
  • Monitor, coach, and provide feedback to FAs to develop their skills
  • Ensure the quality of SILC groups through regular field visits and spot checks
  • Organize and facilitate project events with local leaders, agents, and groups, as needed
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of agent reporting
  • Review data collection forms and MIS reports and take action to improve project performance
  • Verify stipends due to agents
  • Certify and launch PSPs
  • Organize and oversee PSP networks
  • Promote the project and the PSP-SILC to community stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, Microfinance, Business Administration, Project Management, or any relevant field
  • Experience working with decentralized, community-based projects
  • Previous experience with savings group programming helpful
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to be based in the field and to travel long distances
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle
  • Must be a resident of the county/willing to work in the county
