About PREVAIL:
PREVAIL, or the Partnership for Research on Vaccines and Infectious Diseases in Liberia, is a clinical research partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Liberian Ministry of Health.
Summary of Position:
The Social Mobilization Coordinator will provide communications and engagement support to the PREVAIL Program by coordinating engagement activities between research study teams, the Operations Team, Host Communities, Support Networks, Liberian Government Ministries, Non- governmental Agencies, international partners, and all stakeholders participating in PREVAIL research programs.
Description of Responsibilities:
Works with the protocol and operations team to provide guidance on community perspectives during protocol design and all subsequent amendments.
Leads the implementation of good participatory practices (GPP) and stakeholders engagement road maps for research protocols.
Conducts formative research, including listening sessions and focus group discussions to discuss GPP , community engagement strategies, message and materials development, etc.
In coordination with the Training Functional Team Lead, participates in initial and ongoing training, engagement and education of potential participants and community members on protocol activities including inclusion/exclusion criteria, schedule of visits, and research activities.
Liaises with Tracker Field and Site Supervisors in their engagement with participants and communities.
Coordinates stakeholders review of research protocol and other study materials, including informed consent form and educational flipbook.
Leads the development and pretesting of recruitment messages and materials
Collaborates with all applicable national and international stakeholders including US and Liberian team members, social mobilization colleagues and community leaders
Participates in site visits
Attends meetings with site teams and provide SMC related updates
Consults on participant flow and follow up procedures
Monitors and documents all SMC efforts for adaptive learning
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, Anthropology, or other related fields.
Preferred Job-related Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant experience in social marketing, community engagement, research, and public health communication
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in social mobilization and health promotion at community or national level. Relevant skills and experience implementing good participatory practices (GPP) for public/biomedical research is an added advantage.
