MISSION/CORE PURPOSE
The Legal Counsel is responsible for the in-house management of all legal matters in coordination with the Manager for Legal and Regulatory.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all in-house Legal and Administrative cases in coordination with the Manager for Legal and Regulatory.
- Represent and defend Lonestar Cell MTN management, as assigned, in court and administrative hearings
- Participate and/or assist in litigation, as appropriate.
- Create and update internal case management log system.
- Assist in the review, draft and preparation of contracts, leases, licenses, purchases, sales, and various legal agreements; work to create internal filing system.
- Assist the Manager for Legal and Regulatory in the implementation of any compliance issues and updating of Company policies
- Perform other relevant duties as may be required by the Company.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
- Degree in Law from an accredited institution
- Licensed to practice law and be certified in good standing by the Liberia National Bar Association.
- Degree and experience in Information and Communication Technology is advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in the legal sector and court system of Liberia.
- In depth knowledge and experience with the laws of Liberia in particular contract, labor, transaction and corporate law.
- Strong experience in negotiating deals and concluding contracts
- Demonstrated commitment to getting the job done.
- Independent thinker with the ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and communicate with all levels of Management within Lonestar Cell MTN.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite, with special skill in using PowerPoint, Word and Excel
