PSI seeks a sub-award/Grants Coordinator to join our team for the USAID-funded Countywide Sanitation Activity. The project aims to achieve universal coverage of basic sanitation in five counties of Liberia. This ambitious project seeks equally ambitious staff who bring creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit to their work.

Under the supervision of the Subaward/Grants Manager, the Subaward/Grants Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative and financial support to help ensure sub-award management compliance, including reviewing sub-recipient financial reporting, sampling supporting documentation, and verifying expenditures.

Your contribution

  • Support the Subaward/Grants Manager and Associate Subaward/Grants Manager in actively managing and monitoring sub-awards to ensure quality high-quality reporting and timely contract deliverables.
  • Review and process subrecipient financial reports against budgets, including validating expenditures through a sampled review of supporting documentation, identifying internal control weaknesses, and disallowed or questioned costs, and drafting financial report review checklists and management letters.
  • Participate in subaward monitoring site visits, and update risk-based subaward monitoring and capacity-building plans regularly.
  • Implement sub-award management tools, templates, methods; and processes developed by PSI Washington’s Grants and Contracts Department.
  • Support sub-award closeout processes by PSI/Liberia policies and procedures.
  • Collect and file essential sub-award documentation (e.g., pre-award assessments, selection & negotiation memos, reports, site visits reports, monitoring plans, financial report review checklists, management letters, program report review, weekly updates from partners, important email communications, management letters, pre-closeout letters, modifications, etc.) and update subaward trackers.

What are we looking for?

The basics

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field of study.
  • At least 3-4 years of progressive professional experience in Grants Management.
  • Good understanding of USAID projects and sub-granting requirements and best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the subaward life cycle, including selection, assessment, monitoring, capacity building, and close-out.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and personal organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office products.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work in multicultural settings.
  • Ability to communicate and provide feedback to sub-recipients.
  • Must have work authorization for Liberia, PSI will not sponsor work permits.
