Provide strategic leadership and management of the CDC-funded GHSA project
• Provide technical oversight for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of public health policies and
programs pertaining to surveillance of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases particularly those with
epidemic and pandemic potential at POEs
• Coordinate project activities with the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), International
Organization for Migration (IOM) and other stakeholders
• Strengthen the capacity of surveillance officers at POEs such as the training of surveillance officers on the new
Integrated Disease Surveillance and Reporting (IDSR) guidelines, availing the updated guidelines
• Provide ongoing technical support to surveillance officers at POEs for effective surveillance activities,
including overseeing weekly tallying of data from surveillance officers
• Coordinate with Riders for Health on transportation of samples from POEs to the NRL, ensuring proper
logging of data.
• Support and organize the deployment of surge teams at vulnerable POE sites such as Roberts International
Airport
• Enhance the compilation and submission of IDSR data/ reports from POE
• Conduct regular field supervision visits to POEs, routinely mentoring county health teams in counties with
POEs for the detection and response to COVID-19
• Produce and submit updates and reports to Jhpiego, CDC, NPHIL/MOH
• Undertake other leadership, coordination and management activities relevant to the project
