The Maryland Oil Palm Plantation is involved in the production and processing of oil palm,
operating in Maryland County, Liberia, West Africa requires the services of the following:
Position : Sustainable Development Manager (Ref #: SD-01-MOPP/SD)
Number Needed : One (1)
Classification : Senior Manager
Report Line : Managing Director
Duty Station : MOPP Central Office, Pleebo, Maryland County
Duration : Indefinite (but begins with ninety days probationary period
Vacancy Type : Internal/External
Mission
The incumbent coordinates and harmonizes MOPP’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR)
approach and other initiatives related to SIFCA Group’s Sustainable Development Strategy.
Purpose
Main Purpose 1: Lead the ISO 9001 certification process of MOPP as the Project Manager
(30%)
Main activities
• Follow the ISO 9001 certification schedule.
• Write and propose the Quality policy, the Quality objectives to the GM/COO
• Support and mobilize process owners.
• Plan and monitor quality audits in consultation with internal audit Department
• Plan and implement management reviews.
• Write meeting minutes. / Animate the quality communication plan.
• Being the main Quality point of contact for our customers and in particular for SIPH
• Monitor the customer satisfaction surveys, customers complaints and the related
improvements
• Train employees and contractors
• Follow-up implementation of action plans, their effectiveness and propose any
improvement needed

Main Purpose 2: Ensure the effectiveness of MOPP Sustainable Development Policy
implementation according to SIFCA SD Strategy (25%)
Main activities
 Organize a Sustainable Development work plan and budget;
 Propose and implement technical solutions in compliance with national and international
Sustainable Development standards
 Identify implementation difficulties for preventive or corrective actions;
 Monitor and share good Sustainable Development practices;
 Disseminate the objectives of the Sustainable Development policy;
 Managing the reporting system to the Holding according to field realities and propose to
organize a specific audit,
Main Purpose 3: Ensure MOPP SD team development by training and coaching (25%)
Main activities
 Contribute to the establishment of SD team related to MOPP activities,
 Coordinate and monitor MOPP's action plans progress
 Study with MOPP operational departments, budget issues related to teams responsibilities
and functions
 Make a monthly and quarterly report on the SD activities undertaken
 Disseminate standards, laws and regulations for implementation
 Check legal and regulatory compliance
Main Purpose 4: Guarantee MOPP sustainable development approach by various action
plans Implementation (25%)
Main activities
 Ensure the certification of any agricultural sustainability certification system
 Guarantee awareness and information for MOPP employees and stakeholders on
sustainable development issues, in particular by sharing experiences and disseminating
good practices in Sustainable Development;
 Make a benchmark of the actions carried out in the other subsidiaries of SIFCA group;
 Coordinate with internal communication the actions to be implemented to communicate
on CRC/MOPP's Sustainable Development policy and actions plans;
 Contribute to identification of technical expertise needs and tools and staff training.
Main Purpose 5: Ensure a good relationship between MOPP and Communities,
administration authorities and NGOs (20%)
Main activities

 Support and advise MOPP on various operational departments on communities and
public relation issues,
– Mastery of QHSE & SD technical standards;

 Ensure implementation of a training plan on FPIC process to MOPP Management Team,
 Hold periodic meetings on the progress of communities and public relation actions plans
with the Management Team,
 Produce a Sustainable Development report including CSR indicators and community
projects to address the issues of good governance and transparency of decision makers
and other partners.
 Technical Knowledge and Skills
– Good knowledge of specific tools and regulations in the field of Sustainable
Development;
– Good knowledge of Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR);
– Knowledge of communication bases and media;
– Knowledge of communication techniques (printing, audiovisual, database,
documentaries, multimedia, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, In design,
…);
– Mastery of QHSE & SD technical standards;
– Knowledge of the English language.

Qualifications
o Bachelor Degree Science in Sustainable Development Area or OHSE
o High fluency in written and spoken in English
o Ability to plan , organize and train Staff
o Able to instructions and supervise implementation to such fully
o In-depth knowledge of procedures and methods in the maintenance of sustainable
development.
o Have the ability to work alone (to be an autonomous)
o Able to work under pressure in meeting deadline when required
o Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures

EXPERIENCE
5 years in similar position in Sustainable Development area or OHSE
