Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

    • Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties

Incumbent provides telephone switchboard services to the Embassy and its related agencies. Job holder reports directly to the Supervisory Telephone Operator and has no supervisory responsibilities. Operate a non-multiple or multiple cord or console type telephone switchboard to place and receive both local and long distance telephone calls. Provides telephone switchboard services. Provides general information to assist callers in reaching the party they seek. Uses directories and organizational listings to ascertain the organization of the party sought.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One year of telephone switchboard operating experience or equivalent training is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of telephone receptionist operations. Must have basic understanding of how a telephone console functions.

Education Requirements:
Completion of Secondary School is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) writing/speaking/reading of English is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to work with Microsoft Office Productivity Suite. Must be able to operate conventional fax machine.

Agency Benefits:
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Monrovia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
