This position is contingent upon funding.

 

About NCHC:

The National Catholic Health Council (NCHC) is the recognized health arm of the Catholic Church of Liberia. It was established in 2016 to coordinate the health activities of three Catholic dioceses (Archdiocese of Monrovia, Dioceses of Gbarnga and Cape Palmas) that operate 21 health facilities in the country. The goal is to ensure the design, delivery and evaluation of all efforts of the Catholic Church to deliver quality and affordable health services, health education and training in Liberia.

 

NCHC’s vision is to champion the provision of quality, standardized, accessible, affordable and holistic healthcare in its facilities for all in Liberia, through a team of well-motivated, skilled, and trained professionals.

 

Background

Latter Day Saints Charities (LDSC) has invited CRS to submit a proposal to address the global critical nutrition needs of adolescent girls and young women, with an emphasis on a multi-regional perspective and incorporating a significant goods delivery component. In response, CRS is designing a five-year program across seven countries including Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Liberia, India, Timor Leste, and Guatemala. NCHC will work with CRS on this project.

 

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practices with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing.
  • Draft an appropriate service level agreement to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers, and report on this on a regular basis.
  • Create and maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers.
  • Responsible for order placement timing, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance
  • Ensure that the products and supplies meet quality standards.
  • Control and monitor expenses against approved budgets.
  • Receive orders from various departments.
  • Receive, inspect and distribute orders.
  • Review inventory and update as required.
  • Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with supplies.
  • Keep daily records.
  • Develop sourcing strategies.
  • Bar code assets and update asset register

 

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Logistics, Purchasing and Supply, Business Studies, Supply Chain Management or Marketing
  • Previous experience as Procurement Officer, or similar role
  • Computer literacy qualification is essential.

 

Required Language: Strong written and spoken English.

Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of your work.
