Job Purpose:
The Workplace First Aid Business Manager is responsible for increasing the profitability of the LNRCS
Workplace First Aid business by selling first aid training courses to existing and new customers as
part of Occupational Safety & Health (OSH). They will achieve this by developing and implementing a
business development strategy, providing expertise on sales techniques, promotion, and improving
customer relationship management for the business in order to achieve annual business targets.
Lateral Relationships
The Business Manager will work closely with the Admin and Finance Manager to ensure the effective
and timely functioning of business processes, and will build effective working relationships with
other departments, chapters and branches to ensure the flow of relevant information in both
directions.
Qualification and Experience:Education
Educated to A level standard (or equivalent) including Maths and
English or relevant experience
Relevant Marketing /Sales training programme (desirable Experience
Minimum 3 years Marketing/Sales experience in a ‘Business-tobusiness’ (B2B) setting, including significant customer engagement
Working knowledge of basic contract law and tenders
Experience of selling solutions to large multi-site organizations. Knowledge and Skills
Proven track record of generating income from sales in a competitive environment
Experience developing business strategy
Minimum 1 year experience managing people
Proposal writing, presenting and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of basic contract law and tenders (desirable)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
D UTIES Applicable to all:
1. Work towards the achievement of the National Society’s mandate in the country through
effective managerial and lateral relationships and teamwork.
2. Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities.
3. Perform other work-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the NSD or the
Secretary General.
Specific Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Ensures that the WFA business team has a functioning strategy and work plan and
completes all actions in a timely fashion.
2. Reports on a monthly basis on progress made against sales targets and the progress
of sales enquiries, working closely with the Admin and Finance Manager to ensure
consistency of financial information.
3. Maintains an up to date overview of business opportunities and ensures there is a
pipeline of sales opportunities to meet agreed targets
4. Coordinates and carries out sales activity to potential customers.
5. Develops marketing campaigns for WFA and ensures that a range of high quality and
effective marketing materials are developed for use by the WFA business, taking into
account national and local business opportunities.
6. Pro-actively researches, identifies and completes relevant invitation to Tender
documents.
7. Establishes data management processes to meet the needs of the business and
ensure that sufficient customer information is held by the team in an easy to access
format.

8. Uses information to ensure that customer targeting is professional, efficient and
maximizes profitability.
9. Report accurate information on competitor activity within your area
10. Ensures that customer feedback and analysis is prioritised, responds to customer
complaints, and is able to give a reasoned argument regarding the strategic direction
of the team to meet customer needs.
11. Ensures that training courses meets the competing needs of profitability, customer
relevance, and educational effectiveness.
12. Coordinates WFA trainers to ensure that all training sales can be fulfilled in a timely
manner and that all training is conducted satisfactorily according to quality
management expectations.
13. Ensures that the qualification and certification process is trustworthy and above
reproach.
