About CRS Liberia:
CRS began working in Liberia in 1957, with a permanent country program office opening in 1990 to provide life-saving relief in response to emergencies and to address issues of chronic poverty and injustice through innovate and sustainable development programs. CRS Liberia has since developed programs in peacebuilding, youth livelihoods, agricultural livelihoods health systems strengthening, nutrition, and urban water, sanitation, and hygiene. Key partners include the Catholic Church, the Government of Liberia, local faith-based organizations, and other NGOs.
About CRS SEDP Project:
CRS is preparing to implement a UNHCR funded project – Small Enterprise Development Program (SEDP). The project will be implemented in 4 counties, (Montserrado, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, and Maryland) over the period of 9 months.
This project seeks to provide improved livelihoods and self-reliance of refugees and selected members of host community living in Liberia by way of capacity building and the provision of cash assistance. CRS will contribute as a partner by ensuring that persons of concerns living in Montserrado, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, and Maryland counties are able to enjoy a sustainable means of living, including meeting of basic needs, through the establishment of new micro or small enterprises or by way of expansion of their existing micro or small enterprises. During the 1-year project period implementation period, CRS will work with UNHCR, LRRRC, local authorities, refugees, relevant host communities, and other parties.
General Responsibilities
The Driver shall be responsible to manage the vehicle and safely drive all CRS staff and materials in a manner acceptable to CRS’s standard and policies.
Position summary:
Under the general supervision of theFleet Officerthe driver shall drive all CRS staff and materials (goods). She/he shall ensure the safety of all CRS staff, guests and authorized riders on board CRS vehicle assigned to him/her. The incumbent shall be responsible to clean the vehicle assigned to him/her; perform regular checks before driving the vehicle and ensure that vehicle assigned to him/her is compliant with Traffic Standards. S/he shall maintain an accurate log of movements and update his/her supervisor on any abnormality noticed on the vehicle assigned in a timely manner. This position requires a trustworthy, respectful and willing to learn individual.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
Drivers will be responsible for ensuring that the minimum maintenance standard of the CRS/Liberia’s fleet is the vehicle manufacturer’s specification. He will also follow up and ensure that routine preventative maintenance schedules for the vehicles are strictly adhered to in a manner that will assure reliable transportation of CRS staff , assets and other goods.
Specific Responsibilities:
q Make recommendations and implement measures that will safeguard the CRS Liberia vehicles and vehicle equipment to enhance efficiency and reduce the possibility of theft or damage.
q Ensure that daily checks are performed on assigned vehicle before it is driven in the morning.
q Completes the Daily Vehicle Reports and submits to the Head driver each day
q Check and ensure that all journeys and trips (no matter how short ) are recorded using the Vehicle Log Book provided in each vehicle.
q Notifies the Head driver immediately in accident situations , after checking that all persons involved are safe and follows the procedure for what to do in case of an accident.
q Ensures that fuel does not fall below half a tank in any of the vehicles.
q Responsible for ensuring that CRS vehicles are clean at all times
q Be familiar with, and ensure adherence to the policies and guidelines in the Vehicle Usage and Maintenance Manuals
q Ensure that all travel planning procedures are followed by staff traveling in CRS vehicles and that all the relevant forms are completed
q Maintain a file for all vehicle request and all travel related forms
q Complete the Motor vehicle Monthly reports /Fuel Usage report and motor vehicle monthly Maintenance report by the 5th of each month
Ensure that vehicles are driven safely and in line with CRS procedures and regulations.
Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Deputy Head of Administration

Internal: Head Driver, Deputy Head of Administration; Head of Administration, Program staff., admin staff, finance staff.
External: CRS Liberia Partners and Visitors
Qualifications:
q Valid Liberia drivers license and good knowledge of Liberia roads
q Minimum five years professional experience in a similar position
q Ability to communicate in English Language is essential
q Ability to work in a multi cultural environment
q Must be flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team
q Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics
q Strong leadership abilities
q Experience in supervising other staff
q Ability to write reports
q Ability to use the Microsoft suite of computer software applications especially MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
