FHI 360 is seeking applications for the position of Driver for the Education System Strengthening Activity (ESSA) in Liberia. ESSA is a five-year Activity funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), at its Liberia Office. The 5- year Liberia Education Systems Strengthening Activity works in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to address system-wide constraints and increase the MOE’s capacity to provide decentralized and inclusive education, monitor progress, and sustain improved learning outcomes for all children and youth. The activity will support the MOE to improve education data systems, resource management, and accountability across Montserrado, Margibi, Lofa, Nimba, Bong, and Grand Bassa counties. The activity will target education officials and professionals at the central, county, district, and school level with its capacity development interventions with the end goal of improving education outcomes for children and youth. This position will be based in Monrovia, Liberia with frequent travel to the counties.

Job Summary:

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Operate all projects vehicles in a safe and efficient way in accordance with FHI360 policies and procedures, for the transportation of authorized FHI360 ESSA Staff on official duty and goods to point of destination as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform daily safety and preventive maintenance checks on all assigned vehicles before start of duty.
  • Facilitate airport pick-ups for Expats and transportation during official visits. Maintain accurate records and vehicle logs, delivery of materials, receipt of materials, maintenance schedules.

  • Update supervisor on status of vehicles every month
  • Ensure that all traffic rules and regulation by law in the Republic of Liberia are adhere to at all time.
  • And to strictly respect the principal of confidentiality and code of conduct. Must be willing to perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Good human relations and inter-personal skills
  • Significant (5+ years) experience of working in an organization of similar or related nature or size and complexity
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a USAID -Funded Projects is preferred • Must be flexible and demonstrates the ability to work in a multicultural place • Knowledge of MS Office skills including Excel
  • Strong oral and written presentations in English
  • Only Liberian nationals can apply
