Organizational Profile Founded on July 27, 2018, MORE4WOMEN.ORG (M4W) is a Liberian feminist NGO that work to advocate, empower and champion the causes of women and girls in Liberia. The organization remain firmed to advancing for MORE opportunities for women and girls through human rights advocacy, protections, education and social services. M4W will achieve its MORE for women and girls campaigns in Liberia and the sub regions through thematic programs focused on gender advocacy, human rights, protections, SGBV and VAWG and enhancing women and girls skills through education and participation in democratic and governance processes and empowering them for self-reliance.

Under the slogan “empowering women, protecting children and engaging youth, More4Women.Org envisions a Just and Equitable World where ending all forms of violence acts against women, children and young people will enable them contribute meaningfully to change in society and their voices be heard through national and global decision making.

 

Position Summary

Still in its development stages, More4Women.Org seeks to recruit one volunteer to work as acting Executive Director. The selected Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Advisors and an Organizational Development Consultant to formulate strategies for organizational development, management and sustainability, complete registration processes with relevant government agencies and begin initial programs in Montserrado, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Bong, Margibi and Lofa counties.

Job Description:

Under the direct supervisions of the Advisory Board and Organizational Development Consultant, the Executive Director will lead, coordinate and supervise M4W daily operations of administration, programs and resources and the fulfillment of full organizational development and management.

Specific Tasks:

  • Provides overall leadership on the day-to-day operations of the organization.
  • Works with the Board and Organizational Development Consultant (ODC) to develop and ensure the execution of an Annual Work and Strategic Plans.
  • Maintains and enhances all fundraising sources, including events, foundations and campaigns, especially those aimed at sustained donations.
  • Develops cordial partnership and relationships with potential donors and involves the Board of Advisors and the ODC in cultivation and solicitation of donors’ support.
  • Ensures the execution of a community outreach/Public Relations strategy.
  • Leads the development of strong, effective relationships with diverse populations.
  • Develops the yearly budget, with input from the Head of Finance and ODC and seeks approval from the Board.
  • Oversees bookkeeping and purchasing processes and documentation.
  • Provides leadership and holds staff accountable for the efficiency of the organization’s administrative tasks, including donor records, acknowledgements, and the meeting of deadlines.
  • Creates a positive environment for volunteers.
  • Works with the Board, Head of Finance and ODC to ensure that future staffing and programming needs are identified and resourced.

Requirements:

  1. Strong leadership, partnership and relationship building skills
  2. Well-developed budget management and cost effectiveness skills
  3. Well-developed supervision and accountability processes
  4. Support feminism advocacy
  5. Experience working with volunteers and NGO/INGO in Liberia
  6. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field is required
  7. Computer skills i.e. Microsoft office applications
