Job Purpose: The Facility Service Support Officer will ensure that Concern Worldwide’s facilities, including the Buchanan Office, Compound 1 Office, and the Team

House, are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, safety, functionality, and environmental practice. The role involves conducting regular facility inspections,

identifying maintenance or operational issues, supporting minor repairs, monitoring water and office supply availability, and ensuring office compounds and

surroundings are properly maintained. The position also supports smooth office operations by ensuring all facilities remain safe, clean, organized, and fully

functional.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Facility Inspection & Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections of offices, bathrooms, conference rooms, compounds, and surrounding areas.
  • Identify and report maintenance, repair, safety, water supply, and cleanliness issues.
  • Follow up on reported problems and assist with corrective actions.
  • Perform minor repairs and general handyman duties when possible.
  • Ensure office furniture, fixtures, and facility equipment are properly maintained. Groundskeeping & Cleanliness
  • Ensure regular grass cutting and cleaning of office compounds and facilities.
  • Operate and maintain yard cleaning tools and equipment such as grass cutters, rakes, shovels, brooms, and cutlasses.
  • Follow environmental hygiene, health, safety, and waste disposal procedures at all times.

Water Supply Management

  • Monitor water supply systems, including tanks, barrels, and storage areas.
  • Ensure continuous availability of clean water.
  • Clean, fill, and maintain water barrels and storage containers regularly.
  • Report urgent plumbing or water supply concerns immediately.

Supplies & Inventory Support

  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials, office supplies, stationery, and bathroom consumables.
  • Compile and submit supply needs for the Buchanan Team House to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing facility supplies when required.

Transportation & Equipment Handling

  • Ride motorbikes between offices and facilities for inspections and support activities.
  • Ensure proper handling, care, and maintenance of assigned motorbikes and equipment.

Administrative & Event Support

  • Support office meetings and event setup when requested.
  • Assist with other operational support activities as assigned by supervisors.

Compliance, Safety & Emergency Response

  • Adhere to organizational policies, including security, HR, logistics, finance, child protection, and safeguarding policies.
  • Report urgent maintenance, electrical, plumbing, safety, or security concerns immediately.
  • Contribute to emergency response activities when required.
  • Carry out any other related duties assigned by supervisors.

Experience & Qualification:

  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, cleaning, handyman, or custodial roles, preferably in NGO/INGO settings.
  • Holder of High School Certificate.
  • Ability to use basic yard cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of facility maintenance and water supply systems.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to ride motorbikes is required.
  • Physical capability to perform manual work, including grass cutting, lifting water barrels, and facility cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and multitask effectively.• Attention to detail, reliability, and integrity.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
