ABOUT US
International Non-governmental organization, Action Against Hunger has been working to fight undernutrition and support communities affected by crisis across the globe for almost 40 years and across nearly 50 countries. Action Against Hunger established its presence in both Liberia and Sierra Leone in 1990 during the Civil War and since then has been operational in the two countries by implementing various humanitarian and development programs related to health, nutrition, food security/livelihoods and advocacy geared towards the reduction of the prevalence rates of under-nutrition in both countries. Since January 2018, the two countries have been clustered and operating under a single management structure until December 2021. In 2022, the two missions approach on a transitional process and will continue up to 2023. Until this time, the both missions will share human resources with priorities focus. The coordination office for Sierra Leone Mission is located in Freetown, overseeing the operations in Moyamba Field Office and Liberia Country Office is located in Monrovia overseeing the operations in Nimba Field Office. We are a small team that aims to grow fast.
I. Summary of position Action Against Hunger is seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Officer, who will support the Finance Manager and will be responsible for day to day financial transaction and ensure respect and proper implementation of rules, regulations and procedures in line with ACF- Doc Fin (Kits & Procedures). She/ He will ensure sound accounting and financial management while performing role tasks.
II. Key job roles
 Check purchase approval & prepare payments
 Receive & check the eligibility of invoices submitted for payment (comp liance with
purchase voucher & r equired information)
 Process/receive good quality invoices in accordance with ACF requirements.
 Explain to purchasers the information needed on an invoice & that they are
responsible for an adequate invoice
 Properly filed the pay slips and ensure correct information against payroll (date &
amounts) & have the appropriate approval
 Upload salaries on platform , pay loans, statutory payments & medical costs for
national employees;
 Input online payment information
 Make payments in the field for program activities (after validation of request)
 Fill correctly on Excel sheets all informa tion related to the t ransaction and enter
correct codes against each transaction (account, project, budget, etc.)
 Check all information (date, name of the supplier, unit cost, total cost, total amount,
paid amount in word, etc….) are available on the invoice.
 Ensure original i nvoice are paste on A4 size white paper.

 Properly file all the invoices;
 Ensure that all invoices are correctly numbered & coded
 Upload monthly accountancy saga
 Import monthly accountancy from excel to base saga
 Do bank reconciliation & cash count in Saga accounting software
 Share saga backup with Finance Manager for controls and closure

IV Qualifications & Experience
 Bachelors’ degree in Finance or Business Administration from a recognized university
 Minimum 2 years of experience in the financial management practice within the Notfor-Profit organizations.
 Knowledge of different donors funding within the International NGOs is an advantage.
 Extensive experience working with computerized accounting systems, standard
spreadsheet and database programs.
 Demonstrated experience in financial management
V REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
 Professionalism – Good organizer – Sense of confidentiality – Computer skills – Good
knowledge of English
 High attention to details and any other activity in line with the position assigned by
line manager.
 Proficiency in the use of SAGA software is an added advantage.
 Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets and accountancy package.
 Ability to carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support from
within the program organization
 Team player with good sense of resolving complex issues
VI. Remuneration packages
Starting date: September 5, 2022
Duration of contract: Fixed up to 31st December and renewable based on performance and
funding
Location: Monrovia, with frequent travels to other ACF intervention areas.
Basic Salary: U$931
Transportation allowance: U$135
Education Allowance: U$90
Medical Insurance: staff and four dependents inclusive of spouse
