Poultry, Health, Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescent Girls, Psychosocial and Survival Support now impacting the
lives of over 560,000 Liberians. BRAC Liberia is looking for competent, dynamic and self-motivated Liberians to fill the
following regular position.
Position: Number of Vacancies: One (1)
Job Title : Human Resources Assistant
Tenure : 1 year (Renewable based on Project and budget)
Salary : Negotiable
Reports to : Manager, Human Resources and Training
Duty Station : BRAC Head Office, Monrovia
Purpose: To recruit one HR Assistant to support recruitment, record maintenance, contract administration and leave
monitoring.
Key responsibilities:
1. BRAC Safeguarding
a. Read, understand, practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team
members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
b. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to
do so.
2. Recruitment/New Hire Process
 Participate in recruitment efforts
 Scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process
 Collecting employment information
 Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
 Coordinating orientation of new employees to the organization
3. Record Maintenance
 Maintaining current HR files and databases for Microfinance staff
 Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
 Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
 Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
4. Contract Administration
 Processing and issuing all staff contracts and Job description forms.
 Ensuring all contracts are valid; ensuring extensions are recommended by supervisors and approved by the
Country Representative, keeping in mind the HRPP and Decent Work requirements and timelines.
 Processing and issuing staff actions – promotions, transfers and probation actions, and preparing termination
paperwork (separation and contract End),and assisting with exit interviews.
5. Support the Performance appraisal process
 Update staff about the PMS process and the dates, roles and responsibilities
 Collect PMS data from Supervisors in a timely manner for year- end review by PMS Committee
 Organize PMS Committee meeting and record recommendations for action

 Compile PMS comments and feedback for discussion with staff;
 Ensure PMS is signed and placed on staff members’ personal file.
 Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or the Country Representative.
Knowledge, Skills and competencies:
 The highest levels of integrity, confidentiality and trustworthiness
 Good knowledge in human resources concepts and the Decent Work Act (2015);
 Good writing and presentation skills,
 Good interpersonal skills, sound judgment, communication skills, training experience, ability to identify and
resolve policy and HR constraints.
 Ability to read and effectively interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and
skillfully gather and analyze information
 Demonstrated intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications
 Dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and able to improve performance
through management feedback
 Competent in working in diverse culture.
 Able to work independently

Education and experience:
Education: AA degree in Social Science, HR or related field; BSc/BA in Human Resource Management a plus. A
Experience: 2 years’ experience in Human Resource Management; work with international NGO, an added
advantage.
