LINK NCA TRANSLATOR
Base of MONROVIA
As a recognized humanitarian charity founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is active in more than 40
countries in the areas of nutrition, health, food security, water and hygiene. and sanitation. As part of the
qualitative Link Nutriton Causal Analysis of stunting in Grand Cape Mount, Montserrado, Grand Bassa, River
Cess, and Sinoe counties, Action Against Hunger is looking for two Link NCA Translators.
Base of work : Grand Cape Mount, Montserrado, Grand Bassa, River Cess, and/or Sinoe counties, with daily
displacement to villages sampled in the survey (85% of the duration of the contract; training in Monrovia
(subject to change) before displacement)
Duration of the contract: 25 working days
Principal mission: The Link NCA Translator, with support from the Link NCA Lead Analyst and/or Deputy
Analyst, ensures understanding and documentation of community exchanges during the qualitative enquiry.
ACTIVITIES:
 Translation of working tools for the qualitative survey of the Link Nutrition Causal Analysis (Link
NCA)
 Consecutive interpretation of formal and informal interviews, group discussions and participatory
exercises conducted during the qualitative survey of the Link Nutrition Causal Analysis (Link NCA)
 Take notes and write summaries of each community exchange
 Active participation in daily debriefings and initial analysis of collected data.

PROFILE :
 Minimum BAC and/or Professional NGO experience in the fields of health, nutrition, food security,
water, sanitation and hygiene, or anthropology
 Proven experience in translation and subsequent interpretation
 Experience working in rural areas with regular field trips
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
 Perfect mastery of (local language) and English (read / written / spoken)
 Excellent communication skills
 Excellent writing skills
 Knowledge of Grand Cape Mount, Montserrado, Grand Bassa, River Cess, and/or Sinoe counties
 Ability to work independently and as a team member
 Neutrality, objectivity, sensitivity to local context, perseverance
 Preferred: Previous experience in KAP, SQUEAC, SMART, Barrier Analysis, and/or Link NCA
