MISSION/CORE PURPOSE
To plan, organize and manage the network Field Maintenance function and Managed Service partner as well
as to coordinate and guide the implementation of the activities therein with both internal and external
stakeholders ensuring operational efficiency, effective Site Asset utilization, tracking and longevity as well
as Network Availability and Quality of service. Help reduce OPEX by reduction of down time of the field
portion of the network and plans to improve MTTR. Focus on a specific number of sites in a specific area and
supervision and support of technicians dedicated to the sites. To ensure key maintenance strategies
(Corrective, Preventive, Risk based and condition-based assessment) are implemented

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks:
Staff Leadership and Management:
• Ensuring that the section works to a weekly plan, provide coaching and mentoring for FOM Regional supervisors.
• Attend weekly planning meetings, review Weekly plans to ensure that they are realistic and achievable.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement in Field Maintenance activities by encouraging and providing input on processes and support to all subordinates.
• Continually assess the tooling and equipment to do the job safely and effectively, procure additional resources if necessary
• Oversee the execution of the weekly plan for the maintenance activities in the Field by providing direction.
• Ensure the unplanned breakdown work is managed effectively and all work captured o. Ensure inspections are being carried out to the highest quality and all corrective work is identified before becoming a breakdown
• Actively participate in all section activities, shift handover communications, toolbox meetings and any other activities as necessary to promote excellence in communications.
• Liaise with other cross functional sections in order to gain agreement on priorities to enable completion of set tasks in a timely and safe manner.
• Provide technical advice for existing plant / equipment and development projects.
• Manage visiting consultants.
• Conduct Fault finding and failure analysis.
Operational Delivery- Task Complexity:
• Practices workplace safety Check all heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Inspect, repair and adjust diesel powered units as per procedures and specifications.
• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service to the mine.
• Supervise and support repairs on sites to maximize network availability
• Coordinate spares between warehouse and technicians
• Monitor spares movement in warehouse and plan replenishment
• Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance on sites
• Prepare detailed material requirement for preventative maintenance
• Prepare training requirement and schedule for reporting staff
• Control tools and transport of technicians
• Accurate completion of work orders and time sheets

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Technology Systems (Telecommunication Management / Information Technology; Electrical/ Electronic Engineering with additional training in Telecoms Engineering) or related

Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance of Telecommunications equipment/facilities; with experience in working with others.
• Experience working in a small to medium organization
• Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
