MISSION/CORE PURPOSE

The Manager: Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for program management with respect to the implementation and communication of Technology & IT initiatives and providing status updates to all key stakeholders. The role ensures there is alignment of CTIO program with MTN Liberia’s strategic objectives. It also ensures that MTN Liberia initiatives are in alignment with Group Technology. The role provides support for cross functional initiatives as well budget reporting.

Measures of success include tracking of resources, budget and performance against set targets; ensuring stakeholder alignment on program initiatives, and acts as a centralized coordination hub to ensure that there is alignment for all Technology & IT projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONAL DELIVERY

The Manager: Project Management Office (PMO) will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Implementation teams by developing and driving the strategic plan for the function, ensuring alignment to MTN Liberia Network Technology & IT’s overall strategic goals as well as MTN Groups annual goals and objectives.
• Ensure the consistency and alignment of the overall Technology & IT plans, KPI’s, reports and communication for all Technology & IT projects within MTN Liberia.
• Oversees, facilitates and reports on Technology & IT function targets and KPI’s as well as ensure the effective tracking mechanism to support the measurement of targets and KPI’s.
• Ensures and is accountable to drive initiatives that promote collaboration with respect to project activities, across the Network Technology & IT team.
• Ensures the design and management of the MTN Liberia Network Technology & IT document repository for all projects.
• Ensure the successful management of the MTN Liberia Technology & IT programme risks.
• Ensure the design and delivery of a comprehensive performance dashboard for MTN Liberia’s Network Technology & IT projects.
• Manages the MTN Liberia Technology & IT program portfolio based on the Network Technology & IT strategy roadmap, business priorities, funding, and resources availability.
• Manages the Technology & IT program portfolio to align with decisions made by governance bodies while advising on performance and resource capacities.
• Manages the day-to-day execution of MTN Liberia’s Technology & IT projects to achieve outcomes in terms of timeliness, projected effort and financial resources, and quality.

Key Deliverables

• Reporting on Capex and Technology & IT program and initiatives.
• Tracking of delivery versus existing plans.
• Delivery of Technology & IT process governance.
• Budget reporting.
• MTN Liberia Network Technology & IT Projects dashboard.

Role Dependencies

• Active support from Senior Manager Planning, CIO and CTIO
• Alignment and understanding of the MTN Liberia business strategy
• Understanding of the MTN Liberia Technology & IT business and regulatory context
• Timely decision making and reporting
• Alignment of MTN Liberia to Group Technology strategy initiatives (Strategy Development and Implementation)

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

• Bachelor degree in any related field
• Diploma/degree in Project Management Methodology certification (PMP and ITIL preferred)

Experience

• Minimum 5-years of Project Management Experience
• Minimum 3 years of Technology & IT industry experience (Not limited to ICT/Telecom)
• Telecommunications industry (advantageous)
• Work across diverse groups and cultures
• Proven track record of project management
