About FAWE Liberia Founded on December 15, 1998, FAWE Liberia is a national chapter of FAWE Africa with its mandate to work across Africa to close the gender gap in education and contribute towards the achievement of the Education for All (EFA) goals. The day-to-day activities are being run by its National Secretariat headed by the Executive Director in collaboration with the Executive Committee (FAWE Liberia Board). With its first Board Chairperson being Mrs. Josephine Travers-Porte. Position Summary FAWE Liberia seeks to recruit an experienced Programme Coordinator to support the organization in achieving its strategic objectives through effective coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of programme activities in line with the FAWE Liberia Strategic Plan (2024–2028) and the organizational work plan. The Programme Coordinator will provide technical and operational support to education and skills development programmes aimed at improving access, retention, completion, and transition opportunities for girls and young women in Liberia. The position will focus on promoting gender-responsive and inclusive education while strengthening partnerships, community engagement, advocacy, and programme quality assurance. The Programme Coordinator will also support monitoring and evaluation processes, documentation of programme results, stakeholder coordination, safeguarding compliance, and implementation of activities that enhance the empowerment and wellbeing of girls and young women. Contract Type This position is on a fixed-term contract for three years, with the possibility of extension subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance. Location The Programme Coordinator will be based at the FAWE Liberia office, with periodic travel within Liberia as required for programme implementation and stakeholder engagement. |
KEY RESULT AREAS The Programme Coordinator will support the successful implementation of education and skills development programmes through: - Effective programme planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting.
- Strengthening partnerships and collaboration with government ministries, civil society organizations, schools, and other stakeholders.
- Supporting monitoring, evaluation, learning, documentation, and reporting processes.
- Ensuring quality assurance and compliance with donor and FAWE requirements.
- Supporting advocacy and community engagement initiatives that promote girls’ education and empowerment.
- Contributing to resource mobilization and visibility of FAWE Liberia programmes.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Programme Management – Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting (60%) - Coordinate the implementation of programme activities in line with approved work plans, budgets, donor agreements, and FAWE Liberia policies.
- Support programme planning processes, including development of annual work plans, activity schedules, procurement plans, and budgets.
- Monitor implementation progress to ensure activities are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Prepare timely and quality programme reports, including monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
- Support documentation of programme achievements, lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, safeguarding standards, and FAWE Liberia operational procedures.
- Conduct regular field monitoring visits and provide technical support to programme beneficiaries and partners.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, trainings, and stakeholder engagement activities related to programme implementation.
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to support data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support risk identification and mitigation measures during programme implementation.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with project stakeholders, including ministries, schools, CSOs, and communities.
2. Capacity Building and Learning (15%) - Support capacity strengthening initiatives for programme staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
- Promote learning and knowledge sharing across programme activities and stakeholders.
- Support integration of gender, safeguarding, disability inclusion, refugee inclusion, and digital skills within programme implementation.
- Facilitate dissemination of programme guidelines, tools, and standard operating procedures.
- Support mentoring and technical guidance to implementing partners and community structures.
3. Partnership Building and Advocacy (10%) - Support collaboration and engagement with government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders.
- Participate in advocacy initiatives that promote girls’ education, retention, transition, and completion.
- Represent FAWE Liberia in relevant technical meetings, forums, and stakeholder engagements as delegated by the National Coordinator.
- Support community mobilization and awareness activities to strengthen programme ownership and sustainability.
4. Resource Mobilization and Visibility (5%) - Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, and fundraising initiatives.
- Support programme visibility through documentation, communication materials, and sharing of success stories.
- Work closely with communication teams to enhance visibility of programme achievements and impact.
5. Institutional Support and Team Collaboration (10%) - Support organizational activities and institutional strengthening initiatives.
- Supervise programme officer, Field Officers, volunteers, or consultants assigned to programme activities where applicable.
- Contribute to organizational reporting, planning, and coordination meetings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the National Coordinator.

| Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in programme coordination and implementation within an NGO or development organization.
- Experience in education, gender, youth empowerment, or community development programming.
- Experience working with government institutions, development partners, and community-based organizations.
- Knowledge of programme management, monitoring and evaluation, safeguarding, and donor compliance requirements.
- Strong report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in organizing trainings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
- Good understanding of girls’ education and gender equality issues in Liberia
