Lead, Decide and Thrive, Plan International Liberia has developed a new country strategy which will
for the next five years (2019 to 2024) focus on reaching 600,000 marginalized girls and children all
over the country, with a strong commitment to work with partners at various levels to put an end to
violence against girls and young women including Child Early Forced Marriage and Female Genital
Mutilation (FGM) and other norms and practices that hinder their development and empowerment.
Plan International Liberia is committed to ensuring that Child Protection and Youth Safeguarding,
Gender Transformative programming and Influencing are key and an integral part of all its work in the
country.
We are currently seeking to recruit for Plan International Liberia program: –
Title: Project Driver – UN Women Project
Location: Monrovia Country Office
Status: National Post (Fixed Term)
Department: Administration
Grade: A
Reports to: Operations Officer
Roles and Responsibilities:
 Reporting to the Operations Officer, the Driver is responsible to drive to and from work staff
and take staff in the field for implementation of activities
 He/She ensures that the vehicle is in good running condition every day and is to report any
problem to the Operations Officer
 Drive staff or any other authorized person(s), material(s), and equipment(s) as directed by the
authorized Logistic Officer.
 Report any anomaly noticed in the running of the car or any incident/accident that happen to
the car while using it.
 Ensure that the vehicle maintenance schedule is adhered to.
 Ensure that fuel and maintenance cost are duly recorded in the vehicle maintenance log book
 Ensure that all vehicle movements are recorded in the corresponding logbook (destination,
distance, purpose, etc.)
 Ensure that the cars are always clean and ready for use.
 Ensure that vehicles are safely parked in Plan premises when not in use or after work hours,
and strictly adhere to Plan‘s vehicle policy with regards time, vehicle use, authorized
passengers, etc.
 Signal to the Operations Officer at least 3 months before the expiry date of the administrative
document of the cars (insurance/road worthiness certificate etc)
 Effect any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Indicators for success:
 Good Attitude and Behavior in answering to colleagues;
 Operating status of the vehicle at all times very;
 Vehicle always clean;
 Availability of the driver at all times to drive vehicles;
 The safety of staff and property during movement;
 Filling regular daily inspection sheets and monthly vehicle;
 Filing and archiving of records of vehicle inspection;
 Good management of supplies and other equipment of the vehicle
 Car repair and maintenance record is well maintained
Dealing with Problems:
 High degree of complexity in resolving a wide range of challenges
Communications and Working Relationships:
Working contacts inside and outside the organization; include the purpose and level (high, medium,
low) of the contact
 There is high contact with Plan Liberia Administrative and Plan Liberia team.
Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:
Gained through education, training, & experience
Qualification and Experience
 At least a high school graduate with WAEC/WASSCE
 At least 3-5 years working experience in a similar position and with a credible institution
 Possess a driving license and competence in preventive maintenance and administration of
vehicles;
 Must be eligible to work in Liberia
Knowledge:
 Understands Plan’s work, and implements processes and practices that support achievement of
organizational objectives
 Knowledge of adult education techniques and good interpersonal communication ability;
Skills:
 Good organizational skills
 Team spirit and ability to take initiatives;
 Availability to reside in his work area;
 Good steering control;
 A good communicator
 Fairly good writing skills
 Time conscious
 Neat, well presentable, well comported
Attitudes:
 Promoting high performance
 Open to feedback and willing to try new approaches and processes

Physical Environment and Demands:
May be “typical office environment”; note if heavy lifting, climbing, excess travel, etc.
Typically, office environment with 33% extensive travel in program areas
Level of Contact with Children:
The position will be based at the project office and level of contact with children is low
