Purpose
To support the growing IT operational demands across the AIM Programme field locations. The existing IT Officer is overstretched due to increased workload stemming from expanded field activities, ongoing C3/C4 cash transfer operations, bulk ID card printing, and multi-region IT support requirements. An additional IT Officer is required to ensure consistent and timely IT service delivery across all 6 AIM implementing regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regional IT Support & Helpdesk
- Serve as the primary IT contact for all branch offices within the assigned region — covering hardware, software, network, and device issues.
- Provide first- and second-line technical support to Regional Managers, Branch Managers, and Programme Assistants.
- Log, track, and resolve IT support requests in a timely manner using the BRAC IT tracking system; escalate unresolved issues to the IT Manager.
- Conduct regular field visits to all branch offices within the assigned region on a scheduled basis — and respond to urgent unplanned calls.
- Maintain a written record of all IT issues reported, actions taken, and resolution status per branch per visit.
- Network & Connectivity Management
- Configure, monitor, and maintain routers, switches, and wireless access points at all branch offices within the assigned region.
- Ensure consistent and stable internet connectivity at all branch offices — perform regular speed checks and coordinate top-up or ISP escalation when needed.
- Support Starlink terminal setup, configuration, and maintenance at residential and office locations.
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues and resolve them remotely or on-site, depending on severity.
- Maintain a regional network map showing all connected offices, devices, and ISP contracts.
- MIS & Programme System Support
- Support BInsight operations across the region — user account management, access issues, data entry support, offline sync troubleshooting.
- Assist in the deployment and field management of ODK/ONA data collection forms — including form installation, enumerator support, and sync monitoring.
- Assist branch staff in accessing sbiCloud HR module and other enterprise applications as needed.
- Coordinate with the IT Manager on BInsight issues requiring escalation to the BRAC International central team.
- Monitor data submission status for assigned regions and alert the IT Manager of any branches with persistent sync failures or low submission rates.
- Device & Asset Management
- Maintain a complete and up-to-date IT asset register for the assigned region — covering all laptops, tablets, printers, routers, projectors, and accessories with unique asset tags.
- Manage the issuance, return, and condition tracking of all IT devices assigned to branch staff in the region.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all devices — antivirus updates, OS patches, disk cleanup, hardware checks.
- Assist in bulk participant ID card printing (PVC or paper) using ID card printers and associated design software.
- Coordinate with the IT Manager on device replacement, procurement follow-up, and warranty claims.
- Capacity Building & Staff Training
- Conduct IT capacity building sessions for branch staff within the region — covering BInsight data entry, ODK/ONA form use, device care, and cybersecurity basics.
- Support the onboarding of new branch staff with device setup, account creation, and application configuration.
- Prepare simple user guides and quick-reference cards for commonly used applications and tools.
- Identify capacity gaps at branch level and report training needs to the IT Manager for planning.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Submit a weekly IT activity report to the IT Manager covering all issues reported, resolved, pending, and branch visit outcomes.
- Maintain a regional IT support log with dates, branch names, issue descriptions, actions taken, and resolution status.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly IT reports for the IT Manager and senior management as requested.
- Document all asset movements, condition changes, and maintenance activities for the assigned region.
- Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Implement all duties keeping the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of programme participants at the centre of all decisions.
- Complete mandatory safeguarding training and adhere strictly to BRAC’s safeguarding policies and reporting channels.
- Report any safeguarding incidents witnessed or experienced to the designated Safeguarding focal person or department.
- Ensure that IT systems, data, and devices under your responsibility are handled in a manner that protects participant data privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
- Diploma or BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, or network management.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Solid understanding of hardware troubleshooting, OS installation, and device maintenance.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN administration, TCP/IP networking, router and wireless configuration.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, and access control basics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common enterprise productivity tools.
