Serving Humanity for Empowerment and Development (SHED) is a Liberian NGO working for just and resilient societies, established in 2017 as an upshot of Finn Church Aid to continue the gains made by FCA in Liberia. Under this project, SHED focuses on improving the livelihoods of targeted community households and residents (rights holders) through poultry farming and vegetable production. In the same vein, SHED operates a semi-commercial level demonstration farm that functions as a social enterprise committed to tackling local social problems, improving household and community nutritional intake, providing people with increased access to employment and improving their skills for employability, productivity, and contributing to an overall green economy. In order to achieve the above, SHED works closely with local duty bearers, the Ministry of Agriculture, other government agencies, and the private sector through collaboration and partnership.

Responsibilities consist of developing and maintaining sales and technical support with poultry producers, project beneficiaries, related stakeholders, and SHED’s staff.

The Poultry Sales & Marketing Officer will maintain relationships with existing customers and secure new customers by using solution-based selling skills and technical knowledge. This person reports to the Finance Manager with dotted line to the Program Director.

• Liberia market knowledge or sales experience is required
• Layer or broiler marketing or sales experience is an added value

• Ability to present SHED’s products and technical information to prospective and current clients
• Keep up to date with the implementation of the marketing strategy in the SHED poultry business plan
• Identify ways to improve performance and profitability of farm by implementation of sales and marketing strategy
• Represents SHED on the Liberia market and customers;
• Provide the Technical Services Manager key insights and help in the design of SHED poultry research trials;
• Manage daily sales & marketing administrative tasks;
• Develop social links for marketing outcomes;
• Conduct market research and identify new opportunities;
• Gather and analyze consumer behavior data (traffic and rankings);
• Generate reports on marketing and sales metrics;
• Contribute to collaborative efforts and organize promotional events;
• Coordinate with the marketing design and content teams to generate digital and print advertising material;
• Maintain and update impeccable records of marketing metrics and results of past campaigns;
• Prepare and deliver regular sales forecasting reports;
• Monitor and report competitors’ marketing and sales activities;
• Attend seminars, tradeshows, and exhibitions to educate and network;
• Follow up on late payments for accounts;
• Keep record of eggs received from SHED farm on waybill and properly document
• Manage and maintain good relationship with SHED eggs customers;
• Market SHED programs on and off radios and talk shows in Liberia;
• Ensure carts are always available on SHED farm for packaging of eggs collected from poultry on a daily basis;
• Maintain sales and marketing modules / marketing strategy;
• Keep proper record of eggs sale according to system set in place for the sale.

Qualification: Sales & Marketing Officer (poultry product)

• Previous experience in poultry product sales management and marketing;
• Associate Degree in Business Management and Marketing, Bachelor’s degree is a plus;
• Business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field are welcome;
• Proficient in MS Office and business software.
