We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee our most critical security deployments from conception through to successful execution.
The Role
You will be the strategic link between SEGAL and our client, ArcelorMittal Mining Liberia Limited – professional staff, supervisors, commanders and field personnel (guards) and other service providers. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing security infrastructure projects—ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.
The Senior Project Manager will lead his team and ensure they provide unparalleled service in a profitable manner by training, developing and inspiring the team, managing resources effectively, and continuously striving for excellence. The incumbent will have a strong background in the security integration industry, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading high-performing teams. This role is responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our services to AML, and leading teams of dedicated professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Lead end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale security projects (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and physical guarding deployments).
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact between SEGAL and AML, managing expectations, providing regular status updates, and ensuring deliverables meet contractual obligations.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks (technical, logistical, or financial) to prevent delays.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, request the procurement of security hardware/software, and personnel scheduling.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all installations and operations comply with local regulations and international security standards.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and professional development for staff under the AML Project including supervisors, commanders and guards and ensure effective reporting, driving high performance and career growth.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and corrective action processes as needed.
- Establish and reinforce a team culture centered on ownership, safety, quality execution, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Administration, Finance, Operations, Training, and Field teams to ensure alignment with company goals and strategic priorities.
- Drive consistency and discipline across project management processes, documentation standards, and field execution.
- Oversee the Project Manager’s planning, execution, and successful delivery of security integration projects, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and within approved budgets.
- Ensure the Project Team is delivering efficient and reliable security services to ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) by ensuring quality control with field presence on project sites.
- Oversee and coach the Project Manager performance to achieve targeted project margins, guards’ utilization, and change order management goals
- Lead the Project Team to ensure delivery of proper job closeout, documentation, training, and maximum satisfaction with service delivery by AML
- Own and manage operational KPIs including Project gross margin and profitability, guards’ utilization, efficiency and service delivery, On‑time / on‑budget delivery
- Review, analyse, and drive forecast accuracy, backlog health, and guards’ capacity planning.
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate invoicing, invoices are processed timely, cost tracking, and variance resolution.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within project financials and take corrective action as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with ArcelorMittal personnel, contracted companies, and internal stakeholders
- Support customer escalations and ensure timely resolution
- Partner with the AML Security Department on operational feedback, capacity planning, and improving future project quality
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project, operational, financial, and contractual risks across assigned projects and portfolios.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Identify, develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness and project outcomes.
- Promote and adapt the documented PM Process & Monthly Financial Cadence with training and coaching of your assigned Teams to increase efficiency & effectiveness.
- Continuously help Pref-Tech refine and improve the way the company operates.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and actionable reporting to senior leadership on project performance, financial health, risks, and capacity.
- Provide executive-level visibility into KPIs, forecasts, backlog, staffing needs, and major project challenges.
- Translate data into insights, highlighting trends, root causes, and recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
- Lead or participate in executive reviews, operational cadence meetings, and financial performance discussions as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of proven project management experience, specifically within the physical security, IT, or telecommunications sectors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Security Management, or a related field.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is strongly preferred.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana), excellent negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Monrovia/Liberia security landscape and logistics is highly advantageous
Requirements
- Know and enforce Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and requirements.
- Experience in managing teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in leading and managing a team successfully with proven ability to meet deadlines and duties.
- Subject matter expert on installing and servicing access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems.
- Foundational understanding of IP networking and IP-based equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong problem-solving skills.
