GOODVISION-LIBERIA, Inc.: Job Training Opportunity for a period of One year

Good Vision Liberia (GVL) was established to bring eyecare and eyeglasses to the people of Liberia. GVL is a part of a global Good Vision network of organizations dedicated to providing life-transforming access to vision care and eyeglasses for all people in need. This mission is achieved through free eye screenings, affordable eyeglasses, and referrals for eye disease treatment as well as the training of local technicians to deliver programs.

Good Vision Liberia is recruiting ten (10) individuals to be trained as optical technicians for possible employment.

Roles and Responsibility

• Participate and attend every required training and/or meeting sessions.
• Conducts vision screenings in various communities in accordance with GoodVision standards • Provides education to adults and children on eye health and safety
• Interprets results from vision screening
• Prescribes glasses for far and near-vision clients
• Refers clients promptly if needed
• Accurately inputs the screening results of each adult or child into record
• Ensures the screening environment is set up on time, properly organized, and ready for work each day
• Assists with cleaning up and rearranging the screening environment to its original state at the end of the screening day
• Monitors and maintains appropriate levels of supplies and materials, and ensures screening equipment is in proper working condition, in support of unit operations and activities • Distributes informational materials as needed
• Represents GoodVision in promoting the importance of vision care to adults, children, and the general public, must wear uniform and GoodVsion Glasses at all activities.
• Participate in inventory and stock control activities
• Complete reports and forms as required
• Handle cash and provide cash receipt to clients when assign to.
• Any other activities as needed for the good execution of the organization goal. Qualification
• High School diploma, Nurse’s Aide or above.
• Good writing and communication skills
• Integrity and good work ethics
• Basic math knowledge
