Background:

Breakthrough ACTION Liberia is a flagship social and behavior change program in Liberia funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project’s activities include the development and airing of audio materials that convey key public health messages to spark renewed interest in the practice of healthy behaviors among Liberians.

Menstruation is a natural biological process that is a key indicator of health and well-being. Over half of the world’s female population experiences menstruation at some point during their lifetime and overall, a significant part of their lives. In Liberia, menstruation is not spoken about openly. Despite menstruation being a natural bodily function that has existed for millions of years now, it is surrounded by taboos, myths, and stigma that prevent women and girls from discussing and managing their periods with dignity.

Breakthrough ACTION seeks to identify vendors who will produce and or provide disposable Sanitary pads to support Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management activities across the Country.
