Who we are:
medica Liberia
medica Liberia (mL) formerly medica mondiale Liberia is a non-governmental women’s rights organization working in Liberia. Our organization offers support to women and girls affected by sexual gender-based violence (SGBV). Since 2006, medica Liberia has been implementing programs for women and girls in Liberia’s South-eastern parts and recently extended its coverage to Montserrado and Margibi Counties respectively, through funding from the German Government and other donors.
Rising Youth Mentorship Initiative (RYMI)
Rising Youth Mentorship Initiative (RYMI) is a non-profit community-based initiative established in 2013 to mentor young girls and women with the aim of grooming emerging leaders. Primarily, RYMI work to increase adolescent’s access to Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information and resources. Secondarily, RYMI work to improve access to educational opportunities and the acquisition of livelihood and life skills.
Aiding Disadvantaged and Traumatized Women and Girls (ADWANGA),
ADWANGA is a non-profit CSO, established in 2005, focusing on S/GBV interventions in rural and remote areas. The vision of the organisation is the equal social and political participation of women and girls and the preservation of their dignity, rights and protection
mL , RYMI and Adwanga are partner organizations for the regional project titled, ‘Concerted action for zero tolerance against S/GBV in the Mano River Region’ funded by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with support from medica mondiale. The project is implemented in Sierra Leone and Liberia by six (6) non-governmental organizations.
In this regards, mL, Adwanga and RYMI are looking to hire a qualified individual or firm for the below position:

Background to the National Budget Analysis on Gender-Based Violence Support: The National Budget Analysis is part of the regional program “Concerted action for zero tolerance against SGBV in the Mano River Region,” implemented by medica mondiale and six partner organizations in Sierra Leone and Liberia. The goal of the program is to ensure that women and girls in the Mano River Region live in an inclusive society, free from SGBV and discrimination. The budget analysis aims to understand national budgetary allocations and expenditures specifically earmarked for SGBV-related initiatives, programs, and services for five fiscal years (2019 – 2023). The findings from this analysis will guide the Liberia partner organizations, including medica Liberia, ADWANGA, and Rising Youth Mentorship Initiative (RYMI), in their advocacy efforts to improve budget allotments to SGBV prevention and response mechanisms.
The analysis of the national budget with a focus on government expenditure on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) services is a critical document aimed at understanding the allocation and effectiveness of funds directed towards addressing SGBV issues. This analysis will inform stakeholders and policymakers on the current state of funding and areas that require attention.
The objective of this TOR is to engage a qualified proofreader to review the National Budget Analysis on Government Expenditure on SGBV Services. The proofreader will ensure that the document is free of errors, clearly written, and meets high standards of readability and accuracy.

Desired Skills and Competencies:
Excellent Grammar and Language Skills: Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in text, such as typos, incorrect word usage, and formatting issues.
Familiarity with Style Guides: Knowledge of different style guides (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) to ensure consistency in formatting and citation.
Proficiency in Editing Software: Ability to use tools like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and specialized editing software (e.g., Grammarly, Adobe Acrobat).
Research Skills: Ability to verify facts, cross-check references, and ensure the accuracy of content.
